The Boast!!

the Boast is something that apple should have created in the first place. a designer performing his first kickstarter has designed and created ‘the boast’. this is a sound reflector for the iPad 2 and new iPad. it helps push the sound from the rear speakers to the front where you want it.

The Boast is held on to your iPad with safe neodymium magnets. Each of the magnets connects to the internal speakers, providing more than 10 times the pull required to hold the Boast in place securely. Since there are two magnets, aligning the Boast for optimum performance is simple.

he is pledging $15,000 dollars to get it manufactured and out to the market, but at the moment he is only at $5,000 and only 3 days to go.

so if anyone is feeling generous enough to donate some money and maybe be rewarded with one of these ‘Boasts” can do so here.

iPad 3 launch?

the iPad 3 rumors have been buzzing this week with Apple sending out an invitation to all tech journalists.

The invite merely states that Apple have something we really have to see and touch.

Rumours are that the launch will be March 7th which closely coincides with the launch of the iPad 2 last year. If you look at the invite though, where Apple have used their icons to show the date  7th March as seen on the calendar app icon.

the screen is said to have a retina display with as much as four times as many pixels on-screen. in the UK this event will be taking place at the King’s place in London.

The website iMore says the device will have a quad-core processor – compared with the dual-core A5 chip in the current iPad model. The increased screen resolution would increase the apparent detail on images while not requiring software developers to rewrite their products. we might even be lucky to see a whole new apple TV or iTV which again was launched last year with the iPad 2.

take a look at the invite below.

iTextbook coming soon

We have the iPad with iBooks allowing us to read all our favourite magazines and newspapers, but now iTextbooks will be on its way. Something Steve Jobs had envisioned way back and revealed in his biography is soon to become a reality. This will allow students to download textbooks for a fee and use them for their research and studies.

Apple has been in contact with major publishers to get them on board with the idea.

That means no heavy school bags for those lucky kids with an iPad and just less to worry about if you are a university student like myself.

we will have to wait a month till full details are released.

iPad 3 release date rumours

Many people in the Apple rumour scene seem to have given the date for release of the iPad 3.

the date for this unveiling will be on Steve Jobs’ Birthday where the Apple ‘god’ would have turned 57. The report suggested Apple is gearing up to put the third generation tablet on sale at a date in either late February or March, with the official unveiling timed to coincide with what would have been Jobs’ 57th birthday.

The Economic Daily News have revealed that five Taiwan-based companies are gearing up to make four million units of the iPad 3.

When I hear any more, you will all be informed 🙂

Lighter than air……

iCloud seems to be the way to go…… airprint, airplay. more and more reasons to make us lazy! Sometimes it makes me wonder if we will really start looking like those depictions of people in Wall-e the animated film.

But then I get lazy and don’t really care. I don’t fancy having to walk over to my speakers to plug-in my iPod/iPhone to listen my music.

This is where the new Air Speaker by Loewe comes in.

A beautiful Cube sitting in any part of the house looking like a table or even a piece of modern art right to the point where soft beats start pouring out of it.

Loewe have enabled Airplay from Apple products meaning it lets you stream your music from nearly anything Apple. (iTunes, iPod, iPhone and iPad.)

There is a choice of 250 colours and these cubes can be placed in multiple rooms and you can have different music in different rooms. It’s not all about the aesthetics though, some thought of the sound quality has gone to it. The cube consists of two subwoofers, two tweeters and two mid range speakers hopefully giving a good spectrum of sound. Another thing…. it turns on automatically when you press play on iTunes.

prices are set at £699 and can be found at www.Loewe-uk.com

Aren't they sexy?
