iOS 5 Review

After 7 hours of staring at a download bar, it is finally here. started off with an internal error as many of you might have experienced. This seems to have happened because everyone was so excited about this update, the almighty apple servers crashed under the amounting pressure.

But after trying for about 15 times my phone looked the same but felt like i had i just left the Apple Store with a new iPhone.(this is also available for iPad and iPod Touch)

iOS4 was good but this new iOS5 is alot smoother and seems to save battery life.

even the lock screen has become safer allowing you to change your simple four digit passcode to a full blown password.
as soon as the screen is unlocked, you are greeted by the same apps, but up top is a ticker bar showing the notifications center. you get the local weather at the top with stocks and all updates for messages, emails and so on for you to read.

Even though Android had come up with it first, Apple have blown them out of the water at their own game.

iMessage is another area Apple destroy competition. BBM has been around for ages but you need to add peoples specific blackberry number to talk to them. But here apple lets you text any of your friends who also owns an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad straight through the message app. When using iMessage the send button goes Blue, very subtle.

Haven’t tried the reminders app yet… to be honest i’m used to putting my reminders in iCal or getting a reminder from one of my friends.

Another thing which i found useful, when adding a foreign number the iOS will add the correct international calling prefix for you.

Add a little fun to the Blackberry crisis

Everyone who is using a Blackberry knows that there has been some problems with the internet these past few days. RIM seem to be saying that they are clearing the backlog which caused the crash.

I had seen a clip off Ronnie Corbett‘s show ‘The One Ronnie’ which reminds me of the situation Blackberry users are in at this very moment.

iOS5 release……

Today is the day, that many iPhone 4 users and the few 3GS users will upgrade to the new operating system. iOS 5 due to be released at around 9pm pacific time.

Those expecting to find Siri, the wonder of a voice assistant in the update will be greatly disappointed as it will be kept for 4S. Apparently the processor isn’t strong enough to handle the processing power of Siri which is a shame.

iMessage is going to be something that will do well, something which rival Blackberry messenger and Whatsapp messenger. This service allows all users to send text and pictures free to other iOS5 users either on iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

But a full review of the OS will be up shortly.

you will need to download iTunes 10.5 before you will be able to update your iPhone or ipod touch.

Lamborghini Reventon Roadster

Have any of you seen the advert released by Lamborghini?

it wasn’t given much hype when released and it seems not many people got to see it.

But to me this is one of the best adverts i have seen in a while and its all about probabilities. Its simplistic and at the same time brilliant. I can go on how lovely the car is and how very few of us will be able to see one in the metal let alone drive one.

Fight Night: Champion

I have finally got my hands on ‘Fight night: Champion’ on Xbox 360. Initial thoughts are good.

Just in case you don’t know, this edition of fight night is the 5th edition. As soon as you start the game you are thrown into a prison boxing ring where you have to knock out your opponent. It is a good way of getting the player hooked to the story mode straight away but the task is a little daunting till you get the hang of it, which you will.

A tip I learnt is don’t go in throwing punches like a mad man, because if you try this in real life you will get tired and your reactions will slow down. this game makes you think and you need to act as if it is you in the ring. Play it as if you are playing chess. Ok maybe not so much but think before you attack!

The graphics and physics engine work really wel with the gameplay allowing you to see every cut and bruise you inflict on your opponent.

Going to be doing anything naughty this weekend?

If you are thinking of being a naughty boy or girl on the road this weekend, i am hoping that you wont see this in your rearview mirrorThis is a new undercover police car being built by an American organisation called EVI. Forza 4: are we an endangered species??

Forza 4: endangered species – YouTube.

The much anticipated Forza 4 will be hitting the shelves 14th October . The Forza brand has teamed up with the witty trio of Top Gear UK to provide the Top Gear test track where all you fans can try to beat your favourite TV stars lap times. an added  bonus  known as ‘Autovista ‘ lets you walk around the car as if you are in the showroom and have running commentary from Jeremy Clarkson.if you are one of those people who always thought Gran turismo was the ultimate driving experience, i guess its a case of pro evolution football being better than FIFA then the latter game showing what it can really do.  So all you Xbox 360 gamers and car fans take a look at this video and either pre-order your game or wait till it hits the stores.

for the rest of you non xbox players….. well sucks for you!! haha

No no really, go and have a go cos it looks like its going to be a game that will take a lot to be matched on quality of cars, tracks and physics engines.
