Instrmnt Lounge Chair – MUST HAVE

Instrmnt Applied Design, a design studio in Glasgow, Scotland, has dipped its toes into furniture design for the second time. Building off what the team learnt with the one-off ‘The Day Bed‘ alongside furniture designer Namon Gaston in 2016, this new product is The Lounge Chair.

Built in limited numbers and made to order, the Lounge Chair is produced entirely in Glasgow using local craftspeople. It is offered in two wood options – American Walnut or Scottish Oak, paired with bead-blasted stainless steel arms. The cushion and backrest are offered in three options, grey melton wool, tan calf leather or green Italian boucle (a woven fabric from rough curly, knotted boucle yarn). Wherever this chair is placed, be it the bedroom, the living room or study, it will truly lift the room.

A small removable plinth extending from a stainless steel arm offers space for a coffee cup or book, adding an additional level of functionality. No matter the fabric or wood, each chair costs £1,395 including tax and has a delivery time of 8-10 weeks.
